Man in critical condition after horror skateboard accident on Gold Coast

A MAN is fighting for his life following a serious traffic accident at Merrimac overnight.

It’s understood the man was travelling on a motorised skateboard on Robina Parkway when he and a car collided around 10.30pm.

The 33-year-old was treated at the scene by paramedics for a serious head injury before being rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the car, a man, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

It’s “battery-powered,” not electric-powered – you’d need an awfully long extension cord if it was.
