Man in GC hospital after being hit by car on Pacific Highway

A man is being treated in hospital on the Gold Coast after being hit by a car north of Coffs Harbour at the weekend.

Emergency crews were called to the Pacific Highway at Dirty Creek around 9.30pm on Saturday, following reports a person had been struck by a white Toyota Camry sedan northbound.

A 40-year-old man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

The driver of the car, a 54-year-old man, stopped at the scene and rendered assistance to the injured man before emergency services arrived.

He was taken to Grafton Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established as investigations continue.

Police are urging anyone who may have dashcam footage from the Pacific Highway headed north from Coffs Harbour to Dirty Creek between 9pm and 9.30pm to come forward.
