Man in hospital with fractured skull, brain injuries after brutal car park attack

A YOUNG man is in hospital with injuries to his head, face and brain after being attacked in a car park north of Brisbane.

The 20-year-old collapsed and smashed his head on the ground after being assaulted in the Sutton St car park at Redcliffe around 2.20am.

He was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious facial and brain injuries, including a suspected fractured skull.

Police said the victim remains in hospital this morning, in a serious but stable condition.

It’s understood the victim was arguing with three other people in the car park before he was struck in the head.

His attacker remains at large after fleeing the scene in a car.

Detectives from the Moreton District Criminal Investigation Branch are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time and who may have witnessed or recorded the incident on their phone to come forward.
