Man in serious condition after getting stabbed in Gold Coast brawl

A man is in a serious condition in hospital this morning, after he was stabbed in the chest at a house party on the Gold Coast on Saturday night.

It’s understood crowds had gathered at a private address in Broadbeach Waters before police were called to the scene.

A large brawl broke out around 4.20 am before a man in his 20s was stabbed.

He was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

It comes after a horror night for police on the Gold Coast, with extra police called into Surfers Paradise to deal with crowds and brawls there.

Several arrests were made.

Police are also investigating after a man was found dead in a lake early on Sunday morning.

The body was found near Christine Avenue around 4.00 am, before being retrieved by emergency services around 5.00 am.

Officers have confirmed a man in his 20s is dead, and are investigating.
