Man injured after falling into underground carpark during arrest at Surfers Paradise

A 30-year-old man is in hospital after he was injured during an arrest at Surfers Paradise yesterday afternoon.

Around 5.25pm police responded to reports of a man and a woman involved in an altercation at Hanlan Street.

Police detained the man and positioned him against a screen wall for a physical search.


During the search the wall gave way and the man fell approximately three metres to an underground carpark.

The man was transported to hospital with serious head and spinal injuries.

He is in a stable condition in hospital.

Investigations are continuing.
