Man injured in frightening bag snatch

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a bag snatch in Camperdown overnight.

About 10.40pm, a 23-year-old man was walking through Victoria Park, University Avenue, Camperdown, when he was approached by two men.

Both men have been described as having dark skin and were wearing green hooded jumpers. They pushed the man to the ground and kicked him a number of times before stealing his shoulder bag containing his laptop.


The man suffered bruising to his face and was taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment.

A crime scene was established at the park and a full investigation is underway by police from Newtown Local Area Command.
