Man injured in glass attack at Byron Bay hotel

A MAN is on the run after allegedly smashing a glass in another man’s face during a fight at a hotel in Byron Bay overnight.

Police said two men allegedly became involved in a ‘scuffle’ inside the Jonson Street venue around 11.25pm.

During the altercation, one of the men allegedly smashed a glass he was holding in the other man’s face before running off.


The 36-year-old victim was taken to Byron Bay Hospital for treatment to a large cut above his left eye, police said.

Investigators are now appealing for help from the public to find his attacker.

The man is described as being Caucasian is appearance, aged between 25 and 30 and about 180cm tall with a thin build and brown hair.

Police said he was wearing jeans and white shirt at the time.
