Man jailed for life for shooting dead lover’s partner

A MAN who shot dead his lover’s partner has been sentenced to life in prison with no parole for 20 years.

Adam James Gooley, 34, shot Gold Coast businessman Shyam “Sam” Dhody ten times in the head with a .22 calibre rifle while Mr Dhody was in bed at his Gilston home on July 5, 2013.

Mr Dhody’s fiance Melissa Leigh Shaw, 28, was also charged with his murder.

Court documents revealed Shaw asked Gooley to kill Mr Dhody because of ongoing domestic violence and that they planned and committed the crime together.
