Man jailed over horrific attack on two backpackers at Salt Creek
The man responsible for the horrific attack on two young backpackers in South Australia last year has been jailed for at least 17 years.
In the Supreme Court on Wednesday, Justice Trish Kelly sentenced Roman Heinze to 22 years and four months behind bars with a non-parole period of 17 years.
The 61-year-old was found guilty of indecent assault, aggravated kidnapping and endangering life over the shocking attack of two international women on an isolated beach in February 2016.
Court documents revealed the women were two of 16 backpackers Heinze targeted via Gumtree, The Australian reports.
