Man killed after being hit by car in Sydney’s south west

A man has died after he was hit by a car in Sydney’s south west.

Emergency services were called to the Old Hume Highway in Camden around 12.40 am on Friday after reports of an incident involving a car and pedestrian.

When they arrived, they found a 21-year-old man with serious head injuries and suspected leg fractures. He was rushed to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

NSW Police have since confirmed he passed away in hospital on Saturday afternoon.

The 17-year-old driver was arrested and taken to Campbelltown Hospital for mandatory testing before being returned to Narellan Police Station.

He has since been released and investigations are ongoing.
