Man killed after car slams into wall, bursts into flames

A man has died after his car slammed into a wall and burst into flames after colliding with another car in Blacktown overnight.

Initial information suggests about 2.30am Monday 21 December, a Toyota Corolla and a Hyundai crashed at the intersection of Third Avenue and Sunnyholt Road.

The impact caused the Toyota to hit a wall before catching fire. The driver, a man aged in his 50s, died at the scene.


The driver of the Hyundai was taken to Westmead Hospital with serious injuries. His age isn’t known.

Police from Blacktown Local Area Command have established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed it, and hasn’t yet spoken to police, to come forward.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
