A man has died and another is in hospital after a boat capsized near Yamba, in northern New South Wales.
Emergency services rushed to the Sandon River, about 60km south of Yamba, after receiving reports a boat had overturned and thrown two men into the water at around 7am on Friday.
When police arrived, they found one of the men had managed to seek refuge on nearby rocks before swimming to shore.

The second man, aged 48, washed ashore and was pulled from the water by members of the public.
They died desperately to administer CPR but he died at the scene.
The other man was taken to Maclean District Hospital with minor injuries.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
