Man killed in horror head-on crash
A man has died in a horror head-on crash near the NSW and Victoria border.
Just after midday, police and emergency services were called to the Sturt Highway, Euston, following reports a Holden Commodore and a Holden utility had collided head-on.
Witnesses commenced CPR on the driver of the ute, a 54-year-old man, before police and NSW Ambulance Paramedics took over; however, the man could not be revived.
The 24-year-old male driver of the Commodore was taken to Mildura Hospital in a stable condition, where he will undergo mandatory testing.
The Sturt Highway is expected to be closed for a number of hours while specialist forensic officers examine the scene.
Local traffic diversions are in place. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and delay any non-essential travel.
Deniliquin Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
