A man has died following a single-vehicle crash at Currarong, near Nowra on Saturday afternoon.

Police say a vehicle travelling along Windy Gully Track, near the intersection of Nowra Road, lost control of his car and crashed into a bunch of shrubs on the roadside around 3.30pm.

Witnesses attempted to assist the 54-year-old male driver before paramedics arrived, but sadly he died at the scene.

While a Post Mortem examination is yet to be conducted, initial inquiries have led police to believe the man may have suffered a medical episode prior to losing control of his vehicle.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
