Man killed in horror Gold Coast crash

A man has died after a horror crash on the Gold Coast overnight.

It’s believed the man was traveling along Latimers Crossing Road in Advancetown just after 12.30am on Friday when he lost control, hit a power pole and crashed down an embankment.

The vehicle then exploded into flames.

Queensland Police have confirmed the man died at the scene.

He was the only person in the car and authorities have yet to formally identify him.

Latimers Crossing Road is expected to be closed for some time while investigations and the clean-up continue.

Some homes around Advancetown and Gilston have lost power as a result of the crash. Energex is working to resolve the issue this morning.
