Man killed, police officers injured in two separate crashes on NSW motorway

ONE person is dead and three others including two police officers are injured following two separate crashes on the M4 motorway in western Sydney this morning.

The first accident occurred at Granville near the Church Street exit shortly after 10am.

Two trucks and a motorcycle came to grief while travelling east along the motorway.

Sadly, the male motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and died at the scene.

The truck drivers were taken to hospital uninjured where they’ll undergo mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

A crime scene has been established and investigations into the fatal collision are continuing.

A short time later, a fully-marked police caged truck and a sedan collided where the M4 meets James Ruse drive.

Both officers in the police vehicle and the driver of the sedan escaped life-threatening injuries.

They too were taken to hospital for further assessment and treatment.

Investigations into this crash are also continuing.
