Man killed, woman injured after car slams into tree on Pacific Highway

A man is dead and a woman has been injured in a shocking crash in Port Stephens today.

Just after 11.00am, emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway after receiving reports a Toyota Echo had left the road and hit a tree.

The driver of the car, a man believed to be aged in his 20s, died at the scene.


His passenger, a woman also believed to be aged in her 20s, was treated by paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

A crime scene has since been established with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash underway.
