Man knocked out cold in brutal one-punch attack

A MAN has been rushed to hospital with serious head injuries after being punched to the ground outside a hotel at Toowoomba.

It happened outside the Wilsonton Hotel, near the intersection of Mottram Court and Richmond Drive on Saturday night.

Police said the 48-year-old local Rockville man was approached and punched in the head by a group of men in the street around 11.30pm.

The blow caused the man to collapse and smash his head on the footpath.

The 48-year-old lost consciousness for a period of time before he was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Police said the man sustained a serious head injury.

They are appealing for anyone may have witnessed the incident, or may have information that could assist with the investigation, including private CCTV or dash cam vision, to contact police.
