Man knocked-out in brutal one-punch attack was trying to break up brawl, police say

A MAN is lucky to be alive after being knocked unconscious in a shocking one-punch attack outside a nightclub in Sydney overnight.

Police said they were called to reports of a brawl at the Potts Point venue around 1.15am on Sunday.

It’s understood a 21-year-old man was attempting to bust up the brawl when he was punched in the head.

Police said the brutal blow knocked the man out cold, causing him to collapse unconscious and smash his head on the ground.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken by ambulance to St Vincent’s Hospital.

Miraculously, the young man was cleared of any serious injury and has since been released from hospital.

Two men, aged 19 and 20, were arrested at the scene and taken to Kings Cross Police Station for questioning.

Both men have since been charged with multiple offences, including “more than three people use violence cause fear”, and have been released on conditional bail.

They’re due to front Downing Centre Local Court next month.

A third man, 22, was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for hindering police.
