Man left with fractured skull after savage assault at Gold Coast tavern

DETECTIVES have released shocking vision of a savage attack at a pub on the Gold Coast which left a man in hospital with a fractured skull and serious facial injuries.

The footage (see it below) shows the 20-year-old man from Helensvale standing by a table, assumingly minding his own business, when all of a sudden, a second man comes into view and punches him to the ground.

The violent scenes erupted inside the Parkwood Tavern on Wintergreen Drive around 10pm on Wednesday, July 12.

Police said the victim was punched in the left side of his face, causing him to collapse and hit his head.

The 20-year-old was knocked out cold in the attack, suffering a fractured skull and serious facial injuries.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

Police today released CCTV footage of the assault in the hope someone may recognise the young man’s attacker.

The vision shows the man accused of the attack running away from the scene, smiling.
