Man left with multiple fractures after cliff fall

A MAN is recovering from multiple fractures after falling from a cliff on the southern Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to Coolangatta’s Point Danger on Marine Parade just after 6.30am on Sunday following reports that a man had tumbled around 20 metres down the cliff side.

It is understood the man fell after attempting to climb a fence to retrieve a pair of sunglasses he had dropped.

Fire crews winched the man to safety, who was conscious and alert on their arrival.

He was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital with a fractured arm and pelvis, while complaining of back and abdominal pain.
