Man loses fingertip in knife-fight south of Brisbane

A man has lost a finger tip after a violent knife attack at a home south of Brisbane on Thursday night.

Police allege a 26-year-old man, who was a guest at the home, had been drinking with a group of others through the evening.

Shortly after 11.15pm, a man who lived at the home arrived back from work and the pair got in to a verbal altercation.


Things quickly escalated, with the 26-year-old allegedly pulling out a knife.

As a result, the 24-year-old resident sustained a serious injury and lost the top of one finger requiring him to be transported to a Brisbane hospital for treatment.

The 26-year-old man fled the scene and was located by police at a Capalaba address and arrested.

He has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court today.
