Man on the run after trying to hold up Beenleigh bar

A man is on the run after trying to hold up a licenced premises in Beenleigh on Thursday night.

He’s said to have entered the Hanover Street premises at around 8.55pm,  walked behind the bar and stood beside a staff member.

The man pressed an unknown object against the male staff member’s side and made demands for money.

A second male staff member entered the bar area whereupon the man approached him and again demanded money.

The man’s demands were refused and he walked away empty handed.

Neither staff member was physically harmed.

The man is described as having a tanned complexion, 170cm tall and heavy set. He was wearing a fluoro orange work shirt with reflective strips, gloves and had his face obscured by a black balaclava.
