Man pierced by stingray barb on the GC
An elderly fisherman has been taken to hospital after being pierced in the arm by a stingray barb on the Gold Coast this morning.
Emergency services rushed to Muriel Henchman Drive at Main Beach just after 11.50am after receiving reports a man had been stung.
The 72-year-old was pierced on the wrist by the stingray, with paramedics working to stop the heavy bleeding at the scene.
He has been transported to the Allamanda Private Hospital in a stable condition.
