Man pleads guilty to mowing down Gold Coast father

A 19-year-old has today pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of a good Samaritan on the Gold Coast over two years ago.

Alexander Craig Price Kirke was just 17-years-old on Boxing Day 2016, when he mowed down 50-year-old Darren Pullar on Rio Vista Boulevard, while trying to escape a botched robbery job.

A group of people armed with a baseball bat, a cricket bat and a knife had tried to rob a home, though Kirke was the driver of the getaway car.

It’s understood Mr Pullar heard the commotion, and came over to help his neighbours.

Though he was run over on the street as the group tried to get away.

He died at the scene.

Kirke was initially charged with murder, though plead guilty to manslaughter in Brisbane court today, amongst other charges.

Mr Pullar’s wife was in court, and told her husband’s killed it was time to step up and own his actions.

He’ll be sentenced at a later date.
