Man plunges off Sydney cliff after police chase

A man has been rushed to hospital after plunging from a cliff following a police pursuit on Sydney’s northern beaches this morning.

Police said the man fell from the cliff after abandoning his car at Monash Parade car park and running into bush.

The chase started just before 1.45am, when a patrol car tried to stop a vehicle on Warringah Road, Narraweena.

The driver, a 22-year-old man, refused to stop.

After locating his car, police discovered the man at the bottom of a cliff at Dee Why Cliff Reserve.

He was taken by ambulance to Royal North Shore Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

The extent of his injuries are not yet known.
