Man dies after drowning at Surfers Paradise hotel

UPDATE: A MAN who was pulled unconscious from a hotel pool in Surfers Paradise has died.

It’s understood he drowned at the Top of the Mark hotel on Orchid Avenue just after 8pm last night.

Paramedics were seen performing CPR on the man before he was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition where he was pronounced dead a short time later.


Police are on scene investigating. There’s no further information available at this time.

EARLIER: A MAN has been rushed to hospital after he was pulled unconscious from a hotel pool in Surfers Paradise on Thursday night.

It’s understood the man – said to be aged 29 – was found unconscious in the pool at the Top of the Mark hotel on Orchid Ave around 8pm.

There are reports paramedics were seen performing CPR on the man while loading him into the back of an ambulance.

He has since been rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
