Man punched and robbed at knife-point in shopping centre car park

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a man in Sydney’s inner west.

The 24-year-old victim was allegedly approached by a man and attacked in the car park of a shopping centre in Newington at around 7.30pm last night.

Police said the 24-year-old was punched in the face twice and threatened with a knife before being robbed of his wallet.

The man’s attacker then fled the scene on foot.

He is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, between 28 and 33 years old and 165-175cm tall.

He has dark coloured hair and a beard and was wearing a black hooded jumper, a white baseball cap and black pants at the time of the offence.
