Man punched unconscious in savage pub attack

A MAN is in a serious condition in hospital after being punched unconscious outside a pub at Coffs Harbour.

The man was attacked outside a licensed premises on West High Street around 12.30am on Thursday.

Police were called to the scene and found the man lying unconscious on the street.

He was treated by paramedics before being rushed to Coffs Harbour Health Campus with serious head injuries.

He remains in hospital, in a serious but stable condition, police said.

Detectives from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command are investigating the vicious assault.
