Man robbed at gunpoint in random attack
A MAN has been robbed at gunpoint in a brazen daylight robbery on a street at Rocklea, in Brisbane.
The 27-year-old Slacks Creek man was bailed up by a man with a gun on Randolph Street about 7.10am on Tuesday.
Police said the man approached the victim and held a handgun to his chest while demanding his wallet.
The armed man stole the victim’s wallet and fled the scene in a white Ford Ranger being driven by someone else.
The vehicle, which is believed to have been fitted with false number plates, was last seen travelling west along the Ipswich Motorway.
Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area or travelling along the motorway with a dash camera between 7am and 7.30am on Tuesday to come forward.
The offender is described as being aged in 50s and was wearing a baseball cap and dark coloured jacket at the time.
Detectives have released vision of the getaway vehicle with the hope that someone may recognise it. See it below.
Anyone with any information that could assist police is urged to come forward and call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
