Man on the run after dangerous police chase

A MAN is on the run from police following a dangerous pursuit in a stolen car in Logan overnight.

It’s alleged the man failed to stop at around 12:30 this morning when police noticed the stolen car and attempted to pull it over.

Officers tracked the whereabouts of the vehicle using POLAIR, which was located travelling south before before turning around and stopping at a house in Loganholme.

When the man drove away from the house police used road spikes to stop the car at the intersection of Kimberley Drive and Plantain Road in Shailer Park.

The offender and a 19 year old female passenger got out of the car and ran from police. The dog squad was used to catch the woman a short time later.

She was arrested and charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, one count of drug possession, one count of contravene direction and one count of failure to appear in accordance with undertaking.

She is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow.
