A MAN has been seriously injured after being run over by his own truck as it rolled down a hill and ploughed through a busy intersection on the Gold Coast.
The freak accident happened at the intersection of Tamborine-Oxenford and Reserve Roads in Upper Coomera around 11:20 on Thursday morning.
It’s understood the truck rolled down a hill after it was left without a parking brake on.

Police said the driver, aged in his late 30s, tried chasing after the rig but became caught under the wheels.
The driverless truck then careened out-of-control down the slope and through the major intersection where it wiped out a traffic light and brought down a power pole.
Paramedics worked on the man for close to an hour before he was stable enough to be transported to hospital.
He’s been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains this afternoon in a serious condition with severe chest and leg injuries.
Police are diverting traffic around the scene while it is examined and the wreckage is cleared.
It’s understood heavy haulage machinery will need to be brought in to remove the truck.
The collision has triggered a blackout in the area as crews work to replace the downed traffic light and power pole.
More than 1700 homes and businesses remain without power in Upper Coomera and Oxenford.
