Man rushed to hospital for emergency surgery after nasty motorbike crash

A MAN has been rushed to hospital for emergency surgery following a horror crash northwest of Sydney.

Police said the man was riding a motorcycle which crashed on Putty Road at Colo Heights around midday.

A number of witnesses, including the driver of a truck, stopped to assist the rider before paramedics arrived.

The male rider sustained serious leg injuries and was airlifted to Westmead Hospital for emergency surgery.

At this stage, police say the man’s condition is not known.

Putty Road remains closed in both directions while the Crash Investigation Unit examines the scene.

Motorists are being urged to steer clear of the area.
