Man airlifted to hospital after falling 20m in hang glider crash

A MAN was rushed to hospital in a serious condition on Monday after a horror hang glider crash in NSW.

Emergency crews rushed to Stanwell Park just after 5.00pm, after receiving reports a hang glider had crashed.

Police believe the 52-year-old man was intending to hang glide from Bald Hill to Stanwell Park Beach when he clipped trees at the northern end of the park and fell from a height of 20 metres to the ground.

Ambulance paramedics and council lifeguards treated the man at the scene for suspected head, jaw and lung injuries.

After being stabilised, the man was airlifted to St George Hospital in a serious condition.

Police say inquiries into the incident are continuing.
