An elderly man is in the Gold Coast University Hospital after nearly drowning at Surfers Paradise yesterday.
It’s understood the man, aged in his 70s, came into trouble while swimming in a pool.
It’s not known if the near-drowning happened at a private residence or a hotel.

The man was treated at the scene by critical care paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious condition.
Meanwhile, anyone heading to the beach this long weekend is being urged to swim between the flags.
Lifesavers will be on high alert today and tomorrow, with the warm weather expected to draw big crowds.
A woman in her 60s suffered a suspected spinal injury around 12pm on Sunday after being dumped in the surf.
She’s currently being treated by paramedics and is expected to be taken to hospital shortly.
