Man in serious condition after hinterland crash

A man has suffered serious injuries in a car crash in the hinterland in the early hours of this morning.

The accident occurred on Austinville Road near Staghorn Drive at 2:20am.

The 24-year-old had to be cut free by Fire Fighters after his car slammed into a tree.

He was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital with serious head, chest and abdominal injuries.
