An investigation is underway after a man suffered “multiple serious injuries” after falling several metres from scaffolding at a Gold Coast construction site this morning.
The accident happened on Lakefront Crescent at Varsity Lakes just after 7.00am.
It’s believed the man, whose age is unknown, fell from a significant height.

He was treated at the scene by critical care and high acuity response paramedics before being taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
Alder Constructions has since released a statement, confirming the accident.
“At about 7am this morning a worker for a subcontractor on the Alder Constructions site at 33 Lakefront Crescent, Varsity Lakes has fallen from scaffolding,” the statement reads.
“Our priority is the people involved and our thoughts are with his family and workers onsite.
“Mates in Construction have provided counselling for these workers and ongoing support is available.
“Alder Constructions takes safety seriously and an investigation is underway.
“We are working with the relevant authorities to determine the cause. ”
