Man in “serious condition” after truck takes out power poles in Sydney

A TRUCK driver has been rushed to hospital for emergency surgery following a nasty crash in Sydney’s south-west.

The accident happened along Canterbury Road near The River Road at Revesby around 12.20am.

Emergency services arrived on the scene to find a semi-trailer had left the road and collided with two power poles.


The driver, a man aged in his 60s, was found unconscious at the scene.

Police commenced CPR on the driver until paramedics arrived and took over.

The man was then rushed to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.

Police said the man was this morning undergoing surgery.

Canterbury Road was expected to be closed for several hours while crews worked to replace the damaged power poles and clear the wreckage.
