Man with serious internal injuries, bone fractures after Gold Coast dispute

A MAN is in hospital with serious internal injuries and multiple bone fractures after he was allegedly deliberately run over following a dispute at a house on the Gold Coast last night.

It’s understood the man had been arguing with another man at the Alawara Drive home in Tallai around 11.30pm when the second man got into his car and went to leave.

Police said the victim stood in front of the car and tried to stop it from leaving when he was mowed down.

Instead of stopping, police said the driver accelerated and ploughed straight into the man who they said landed on the nature strip after being thrown through the air.

The 32-year-old Upper Coomera man sustained serious internal injuries and multiple leg and arm fractures.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

The driver, a 39-year-old Nerang man, initially fled the scene. He was located and arrested around 8am this morning.

He remains in police custody, assisting investigators with their inquiries.

Police confirmed the two men are known to each other.
