Man critical after being hit by truck at Gold Coast tip

LATEST @ 11.40 AM | A man is fighting for life after being hit by a truck at a tip on the Gold Coast.

The man, aged in his 60s, was struck by the vehicle at the Molendinar Waste And Recycling centre off Herbertson Drive.

Emergency crews were called to the scene just after 10.30am on Wednesday.

A Queensland Ambulance Spokesperson told myGC the pedestrian suffered significant leg and arm injuries.

He was treated at the scene by critical care paramedics and the High Acuity Response Unit before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the truck managed to escape uninjured.

City of Gold Coast has been contacted for comment.
