Man seriously injured after losing control of pushbike and hitting retaining wall

A MAN in his 30s has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after crashing his pushbike on the Gold Coast.

It happened at the intersection of Cedar Court and the Gold Coast Highway at Burleigh Heads early on Sunday morning.

Police said it appeared as though the 36-year-old man had lost control of his bike before slamming into a retaining wall.


He sustained severe head injuries and was found a short time later by a passing motorist who raised the alarm.

The man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is now investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

They are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident.
