Man seriously injured after nail bomb explodes in Logan

A man has been seriously injured after a suspected nail bomb exploded outside a home in Logan.

Emergency services were called to a home on Jacaranda Avenue in Kingston around 5.30pm on Thursday following the blast.

Police report the 52-year-old man moved a bucket that was in the front yard of the property when it exploded.

The man was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane with serious injuries to his lower leg as well as concussion.

Police declared an emergency under the Public Safety Preservation Act which was later revoked.

A crime scene remains in place this morning.
