Man seriously injured, car damaged in machete attack

TWO men have been charged and a third has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition following a domestic violence-related incident in Sydney’s west.

Police and paramedics were called to reports of a disturbance at a house on Helena Avenue at Emerton just after 9pm on Friday.

It’s understood four men known to each other became embroiled in a fight after one of them damaged a car with a machete.


Police arrived to find a 29-year-old man with a significant head injury.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital, in a serious condition.

Two other men, aged 19 and 28, were arrested nearby and taken to Riverstone Police Station.

The younger man was charged with affray and malicious damage, while the 28-year-old was charged with affray.

Both men were remanded in custody overnight and were due to appear before Parramatta Bail Court today.

Inquires continue to locate a fourth man.
