Man shatters glass door in terrifying attempted robbery at Pimpama

An armed man is on the run after a terrifying attempted armed robbery at a Pimpama service station this morning.

Around 2.35am, a man drove an older model navy blue coloured Toyota Tarago to the Gainsborough Drive servo, getting out of the vehicle armed with a large knife in one hand and carrying a black bag in the other.

Police said the man approached the locked front doors of the service station but the attendant did not open the doors.

The man then used the knife to stab at the glass front door whilst also kicking it several times. The glass shattered but remained intact.

After failing to gain entry to the servo, the man got back into his vehicle and drove off.

At the time, he was wearing a dark blue/ black hoodie, dark blue/black pants, black shoes and grey clothing over his face.

Investigations are continuing.
