Man shot at during home invasion south of the border

THREE men are on the run after allegedly invading a home in Tweed Heads West overnight and shooting at the occupant.

Police say three men, two of whom were armed with guns, forced their way into the home on Wyuna Road around 6.45pm on Monday.

It’s alleged the trio threatened a 25-year-old man at the home and fired a shot at a second 58-year-old man, before fleeing the scene in a white Ford sedan.

Thankfully, the bullet missed the 58-year-old man and no one was injured during the incident.

A crime scene was established at the home and examined by specialist forensic officers and detectives. Police would now like to speak to three men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The first man is described as being about 168cm tall and was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket and black track pants. The second man is described as being about 165cm tall and was also last seen wearing a hooded jumper and track pants.

The third man has only been described as wearing a hooded jumper and all three men were also wearing gloves and face masks.
