Man shot dead, another injured in brutal home invasion

A man has been shot dead, and another brutally beaten, in a violent home invasion near Beaudesert this morning.

It happened at a home on Brittany Court in Gleneagle just before 6.00am.

Emergency services found a 48-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg at the scene.


He was treated briefly at the scene by paramedics, though passed away just after 7.00am.

While a 40-year-old man, also found at the scene, was hit on the head with a hammer and had sustained minor injuries.

He’s believed to be in a stable condition.

Reports suggest one of the victim’s daughters was at home at the time – she’s believed to be just 13 years old.

Initial investigations suggest four men are on the run in a black Holden Commodore utility with no registration plates.

The ute was seen leaving the address and was last spotted driving on the Mount Lindesay Highway.

Police are calling on anyone with dash cam footage or information to come forward.
