Man shot multiple times in ‘targeted attack’ on Sydney street

A GUNMAN is on the run after shooting a man multiple times in what is believed to have been a targeted attack at South Granville, in Sydney’s west.

The shooting occurred on Steel Street just before 1.30pm on Saturday.

It’s understood the victim had been working on his car parked outside his brother’s home when he was gunned down, allegedly by a man wearing a “black mask”.

According to witnesses, the gunman had pulled up to the address in a white car and shot the victim, twice.

The injured man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to hospital. Police say his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police and plain-clothed detectives saturated the area in the search for the gunman, however, he could not be found. Investigators believe the shooting was targeted.

Part of Steel Street has been declared a crime scene.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
