A man has been charged after he allegedly assaulted a security guard, before stabbing a stranger, following a fight over a face mask at a Sydney shopping centre.
Police have been told the 25-year-old man was with a woman and two children at the George Street centre in Windsor overnight, when the woman was asked by a security guard to put on a mask.
It’s alleged a short time later, the man allegedly approached the 59-year-old security guard and punched him a number of times.

“During this time, a member of the public intervened and a physical fight broke out, before the man allegedly produced a knife and stabbed him in the leg,” NSW police said.
The Good Samaritan and security guard managed to restrain the man before officers arrived and took him into custody.
He has since been charged with armed with intent to commit indictable offence, affray, and resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty.
He was refused bail to appear in Penrith Local Court today.
Police said investigations into the incident are continuing.
