Man stabbed, bashed with kettle in fight at share house

A MAN has been bashed over the head with a kettle and had a knife driven through his hand during a fight at a share house in Sydney’s west.

Police were called to reports of a fight between two men aged 55 and 46 at the Gibbons Street home in Auburn around 7.30pm on Thursday.

The older man is alleged to have struck the younger man over the head with a kettle before stabbing a knife through his hand, police said.


The 46-year-old was taken to hospital in a stable condition for treatment to hand and head lacerations.

The Gibbons Street home was declared a crime scene and the older man was arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station for questioning.

Police said detectives are still taking statements in relation to the matter.

No charges have yet been laid.
