Teen charged with murdering man in domestic violence-related attack
UPDATE 1:20PM | A TEENAGER has been charged with murder after he allegedly stabbed a man to death in a domestic violence-related attack at a house in Sydney’s west.
The 50-year-old victim was found with multiple stab wounds at the Waikanda Crescent home at Whalan following a domestic disturbance around 5.30pm on Saturday.
It’s understood he had tried to break up a dispute between the 19-year-old male and a young woman when the teen allegedly stabbed him in a frenzied attack.
Sadly, the older man’s injuries were too severe and he died at the scene.
Police said he was not related to the 19-year-old.
The teen was arrested at a relative’s house nearby shortly after the attack.
He was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he was today formally charged with the man’s murder.
Although shaken up, the woman and a young child who was also in the home at the tome were not physically harmed during the incident.
The 19-year-old remains in custody and is due to front Parramatta Bail Court this afternoon.
